Arsenal are prepared to smash their transfer record to sign Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic in the summer, according to Metro.
The Gunners' previous highest payment for a player was the £15million spent on bringing Andriy Arshavin from Zenit St Petersburg, although the Russian is expected to leave The Emirates at the end of the season.
Jovetic will have a chance to impress potential suitors when he turns out for Montenegro against England in next Tuesday's World Cup qualifier.
Arsene Wenger is understood to have been tracking the 23-year-old for some time and is prepared to pay up to £20million to secure his signature.
However, Arsenal could face competition from Manchester City and Juventus, according to reports from Italy.
Jovetic will partner Juventus forward Mirko Vucinic when he lines up against England, with his teammate stating a case for coming to Turin.
‘We play close together in the national side and we often switch positions with each other,’ said Vucinic. ‘I would like to do that at Juve as he is a countryman and a really strong player.’
Jovetic has scored 12 goals in 27 appearances this season to take Fiorentina to fourth place in Serie A.  ------------------- Mirror Football
