Here comes Ronnie! Cristiano Ronaldo warns that he'll be shining at Old Trafford
After battering Barcelona, Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid are buzzing ahead of Champions League showdown with Manchester United
Cristiano Ronaldo warned Real Madrid are brimming with confidence after he destroyed Barcelona in the Copa del Rey.
Sir Alex Ferguson was at the Nou Camp to witness the first of two El Clasicos this week before Real Madrid visit Old Trafford on Tuesday.
And the Scot saw his former star live up to his world record price tag as Jose Mourinho’s side gave a brilliant display of counter-attacking football.
Ronaldo's performance made a joke of comparisons with Gareth Bale, according to Rio Ferdinand.
Now after the 3-1 win, Ronaldo wants his side to ride their hot form into the league re-match this weekend - and all the way to Manchester.
“We played better than Barcelona, scoring three goals in the Nou Camp is extremely difficult,” Ronaldo said.
“Lately whenever we play here we do very well. We play better here than at home.
“We must continue with this confidence. Most of the players like to play here and things are going well for us. We will go to Manchester full of confidence.”
The rivals meet again on Saturday night in La Liga at the Bernebeu although Real are 16 points back on Barca in third place.
Ronaldo, who has scored in all six visits to Barcelona over the last two seasons, added: “La Liga is less important because we are a lot of points behind, we need to look more at the cup and the Champions League, but certainly we will go there to do our best.”
Real Madrid captain Iker Cassilas added: “Cristiano is vital for us. Right now he’s in sensational form and gives us his maximum. We have a 1-1 draw from the first leg against United and we have to score and keep a clean sheet.
“It will be difficult as they also know how to play and their ground is tough to play at. We have to transfer what we did here at Camp Nou to Old Trafford.”---- Mirror Football.
Y'all know he's class any day. It will only be news if he doesn't shine on the day but as far as getting a victory goes, i'll hol
