Now that the transfer window is done and dusted, we can sit back and take stock of the most expensive transfers of the summer from around the world.
It was record breaking, frantic, sometimes frustrating for certain fans, but for most clubs it all came together in the end, with many of this summer’s signings being among the most expensive of all time.
Spurs and Manchester City got off to a flying start, completing a number of deals that made it into the list of this summer’s most expensive. But Arsenal and Manchester United fans were frustrated by their lack of signing early on.
Transfer deadline day was kind to Arsenal in the end though, and they managed to bring a big marquee signing to the Premier League such in the form of German international Mesut Ozil.
Manchester United managed to secure a last minute deal for Fellaini.
Despite the big-money moves in the Premier League, the five most expensive signings were made in France and Spain, although English clubs spent the most money collectively.
