Alex Song pondering January Barcelona exit due to lack of playing time
The former Arsenal midfielder could be back on the market this winter after only 18 months at the Camp Nou
Alex Song is considering quitting Barcelona in the next transfer
window over a lack of first-team opportunities, according to Spanish
sports daily AS.
The midfielder left Arsenal only last summer for Catalunya but has struggled to break into the team with his conversion to centre-back abandoned as a failure and Barca already boasting a wealth of options in the centre of the park.
Song has started just one game of a possible seven in 2013-14 - the 1-0 win over Malaga - and that was solely down to Sergio Busquets' absence through injury.
The Cameroon international has in fact played just 91 minutes of a possible 630 for the Blaugrana this season, less than 15% of the gametime available, and this has forced him to reconsider his future.
Manchester United were linked with the midfielder this summer.
