Manuel Neuer
Didn't have to much to do throughout the 90 minutes, despite Arsenal posing an attacking threat. The German was reliable when called upon but lost his cool late on as Arsenal grabbed a second. -
416
Dante
Was left exposed by the out-of-position Alaba for Arsenal's opener but fulfilled his defensive opportunities adequately in the rest of the first half. -
914
Daniel Van Buyten
Dealt with the aerial threat of Olivier Giroud well on the most part but let the Frenchman get away from him for Arsenal's first goal. -
179
Philipp Lahm
A really classy performance from the Bayern captain. Kept Arsenal quiet on an attacking front down their left flank and regularly got into great attacking positions going the other way. -

Javi Martínez
Didn't get as much time on the ball as he did at the Emirates Stadium because of Arsenal's high-pressing game but he remained assured with his passing deep from midfield. Had a couple of poor touches in the second half when the tempo of the game picked up. -
627
Arjen Robben
Didn't have the best first half by his standards. Wasted a good chance on the counterattack by showing Jenkinson too much of the ball before dragging a shot wide from the edge of the area moments later. Was involved more in the second but couldn't find an end product, wasted a one-one-one chance against Fabianski. -
618
D. Alaba
Left Theo Walcott in acres of space in the third minute allowing the Arsenal forward to cross for Giroud's goal. Almost gifted the visitors a second when his hesitance let Rosicky in but was saved by the bounce of the ball. -
615
Luiz Gustavo Dias
Was handed the task of breaking down Arsenal's patterns in midfield but the Bayern man was often bypassed by Cazorla and Rosicky. He gave away plenty of free kicks but almost scored with a deflected effort from just outside the box. -
716
Toni Kroos
Had a tough first half against Arteta in midfield but the young German looked more likely to trouble the visitors than any of his team-mates. Had a couple of shots in either half from range which Fabianski covered. -
430
Mario Mandzukic Flop of the Match
Didn't really have an impact in the first half as Bayern struggled to create clear opportunities. Didn't improve in the second half and was substituted with 20 minutes to go. -
517
Thomas Müller
Provided the Germans with an attacking threat down the right flank when combining with Philipp Lahm. Had a shot from a good position inside the box which only found the side netting. Gave Gibbs more to think about in the second half, his delivery into his forwards at times was very impressive.

116
Anatoliy Tymoshchuk
Was brought on to add some defensive solidity in the final 10 minutes. -
418
Mario Gomez
Came on for the last 20 minutes, but could not grab a sniff at goal as the Gunners overloaded in attack.
-
803
Lukasz Fabianski
Had a moment of miscommunication with Mertesacker early on but recovered well to make amends. The Pole got stronger as the game went on. He made a solid stop to deny Kroos from range in the first half and was a lot busier in the second half but managed to rise to the occasion. Made a great stop to deny Robben from close range. -
816
Per Mertesacker Top of the Match
Organised Arsenal's defence well throughout the match under a thorough examination from the hosts' attack. Had one or two nervy moments in the first half but improved thereafter. -
766
Laurent Koscielny
The Frenchman, who deputised for Vermaelen, was quick and decisive in his defensive work in the match and made a number of crucial challenges and blocks along the way. Rose magnificently to head in Arsenal's second with five minutes to play. -
5116
Carl Jenkinson
The young right-back had an impressive first half, showing great pace and patience against the tricky Robben and made a crucial challenge to halt a dangerous Bayern counterattack. Kept his level up after the break, made a remarkable late challenge on Robben again to deny him a chance. -
457
Kieran Gibbs
Was thrown straight into the deep end after returning from injury but coped well against Bayern's array of attacking talent down his side. Made a superb block in amongst a melee in the second period. Wasn't quite the force going forward down the left flank as he usually is. -
4013
Tomas Rosicky
His first-time pass to find Walcott during the move which led to Arsenal's goal was incisive. After a bright start, he had a period where he was sloppy in possession, perhaps too anxious to play the killer ball. -
3610
Mikel Arteta
Once again sacrificed his attacking game to pay close attention to Toni Kroos and did well on the main part to nullify the Bayern midfielder's attacking output. -
3225
Aaron Ramsey
Made an assured start to the game and carried the ball forward well in the opening exchanges. His influence in the game faded in the second half, though, before he was hauled off. -
3717
Santi Cazorla
In the absence of injured Jack Wilshere, the Spaniard assumed the creative responsibility in the Gunners' midfield. He made the perfect start when he kick-started the move which led to Arsenal's opener and then continued to show all the close control and passing skills which he possesses. -
4012
Olivier Giroud
Was bright enough to catch the Bayern defence out with a clever run inside three minutes to open the scoring. Had very little service from then on but continued to provide the Gunners with a much needed target. Had a frustrating second half where he continually made the wrong decisions in good positions. -
2817
Theo Walcott
The Englishman supported Giroud from the right-hand side and made a fine start with an accurate low cross for the Frenchman to score early on. Delivered another great ball into the box moments later to no avail. Bayern were clearly worried by his pace.
Substitutions
-
445
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Came on with 20 minutes to go and injected some pace into the visitors' attack. -
598
Gervinho
Was a second half substitute and gave Arsenal some impetus going forward. Had a golden chance to score but couldn't quite find a finish after a skilful turn.
