Jonathan Soriano: Puyol won’t give up
The former Barcelona striker paid homage to the
Blaugrana legend for ‘all that he has done' for the Catalan giants ahead
of his exit this summer

Jonathan Soriano has praised the career of his former team-mate Carles Puyol, who announced his departure from Barcelona on Tuesday.
The veteran Spain international had spent his entire career at Camp Nou, captaining his side to three Champions League titles, but will move on in the summer.
“I’m sure after all the injuries Puyol has had he has suffered a lot, but hey, what you have is that Puyol is a strong guy. He's a guy that never gives up and no one can doubt all he has done for the club,” Soriano told Goal.
Barcelona are currently second in La Liga, one point off leaders Real Madrid and two clear of Atletico Madrid and Soriano believes the title could go either way.
He said: “I don't have a favourite for the title. It is true that I like Barcelona because I have a lot of mates and friends but, it is also true that I like the fact that Atletico are fighting because a league with two contenders is a little bit boring. With Atletico between Barca and Madrid I like it, it gives a touch to the league."
The 28-year-old also voiced his praise for Pep Guardiola, saying that the Bayern Munich coach has proved his quality in Bavaria.
“I’m not going to be the one that discovers Pep Guardiola, everybody knows who Guardiola is, he's a coach that showed his quality at Barcelona.
"He was the best coach that Barcelona has had and when he arrived to Bayern a lot of people doubted him. I think that now everybody sees Guardiola as the best coach and nobody will deny it.”
Soriano currently tops the Austrian Bundesliga scoring charts but insisted that there has been no contact with Spain coach Vicente del Bosque.
"There has never been contact, I haven't received any call,” admitted Soriano.
"I'm prepared for any news to come, I work everyday with my team for each competition match and it is true that our national team is very hard, it is a closed block, because they are European champions, world champions and there are great strikers.
"Let’s be honest and realistic and realise that getting into the group is very complicated.” ----------------------- goal.com
