The club’s sporting director says there is no chance
that the Nerazzurri coach will leave regardless of where they finish in
the Scudetto race in 2013-14
Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has backed Walter Mazzarri to remain as head coach despite the Serie A team’s middling season.Ausilio believes that, despite their current fifth place position, the team has made a lot of progress under the former Napoli boss, who took over in 2013.
"He works 24 hours a day,” Ausilio told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “He follows all the movements of the team.
“Mazzarri is part of the foundation. You can already see a growing team, a different game, a solid defence. Despite our ranking, it looks like that. Mazzarri will remain, regardless of where we finish."
The sporting director is confident that the club can hold on to their main assets, while he has also hinted that new arrivals could be on their way to San Siro but stressing the Nerazzurri will not splash out more than they can afford.
“Mazzarri has worked wonders with Rolando, we want to keep him. Ranocchia we will talk with at the end of the season but I wouldn't rule out a renewal.
“With Guarin and Alvarez we are in a good place. The heroes from the treble? We will speak with everyone at the end of the season, just as we did with Samuel last year when he renewed in five minutes flat.
“But who knows what will happen. Milito could give experience and quality even if not as a starter.
“There is just one prerequisite: that the parameters do not exceed the current ones. As stated by Thohir, the total salary cannot exceed €70-80m." -------------- goal.com
