Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers heaps further praise on Luis Suarez after Cardiff win
The Uruguayan penned a new contract at Anfield on Friday and set about proving his worth with another double
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers hailed striker Luis Suarez once more following another mesmeric display from the striker during his side's 3-1 win over Cardiff City.
The Uruguayan, fresh from penning a new bumper deal to remain at Anfield, extended his lead atop the Premier League goalscoring chart with two more on Saturday.
His clever run and unselfish play set up Raheem Sterling for the Reds' other goal, leaving Rodgers to laud his performance once again
"He's doing his job to a really high level," Rodgers said.
"He's doing it consistently, week in, week out.
"For me he has this in-built brain for football. His view of game is different to others and he has an anticipation of where ball is going to drop."
Nonetheless, it wasn't just Suarez that left Rodgers purring. Following on from last week's 5-0 destruction of Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane, the Reds boss was again left enthused by his side's all-round display.
"The team was outstanding today," he said.
"In the first half some of our football was exceptional.
"The chances that we are creating we are putting away. We could have scored five in the first half."
Rodgers played down title talk, though, adding: "We'll let everyone speak about it themselves.
"Since January we've been exceptional. People will talk us up and people will talk us down - it is irrelevant to us."
