Yobo Relishes Turkish Cup Win

Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo has expressed his delight at winning his the 2013 Turkey FA Cup, his third title in the South eastern Europe nation since making a switch in 2011, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The former Everton defender who was exemplary in the heart of defence for the Yellow Canaries as they pipped Tranzonspor by a lone goal Wednesday night admits that winning the Turkish Cup is a massive achievement for him and his teammates, though their target at the start of the season was to win a double.
Yobo also reckons the Cup success has made up for the disappointment of losing the Turkish League title to Galatasaray.
"We all had big expectations but as it ended, we are delighted we won the Turkish Cup," Yobo who is five caps away from hitting a centurion for the Super Eagles states happily.
"We all expected to reach the Europa League final and win it, but I'm grateful we didn't end the season trophy-less," Yobo concludes.
The AFCON winner also reacted to his nominations as one of the best centre-backs in the Turkish Super League in the 2012/2013 season.
"It's down to hard work and team play. I'm delighted to have been listed,"he summed up.
Yobo has had a successful season, captaining the Super Eagles to their first African title in 19 years has made 30 appearances for Fenerbahce in all competitions in the just concluded season. ----------------------- Complete Sports
