David Moyes hopes to persuade Cesc Fabregas to reunite with his old
Arsenal pal Robin van Persie at Manchester United in a sensational
summer transfer.
Fabregas is unsettled at Barcelona, less than two
years after re-joining his boyhood club from the Gunners, and is
considering a move back to the Premier League.
Barca would be prepared to sell Fabregas for around £30million and that has alerted incoming new manager Moyes,
who has always been a fan of the Spain midfielder and tried to bring
Fabregas on loan to Everton when he was breaking through at Arsenal
nearly a decade ago.
Moyes knows United's midfield needs strengthening this summer in the wake of Paul Scholes' retirement, and feels Fabregas is just the sort of player he requires. End of two eras: United star Scholes has joined boss Fergie in retirement

United's neighbours Manchester City have also been alerted to the situation, but Moyes has shown most interest so far.
The Scot's biggest problem could be persuading Fabregas to snub a return to the Emirates.
Arsenal inserted a £25m buy-back clause in his Barca contract when they sold him for £35m in summer 2011.
It
is believed the Londoners are highly unlikely to activate this clause,
because of Fabregas' acrimonious departure - he virtually forced the
move through - but the 26-year-old maintains an affinity with the
Arsenal fans and may not want to play against them for another Premier
League club. Clause for concern: Arsenal aren't considered likely to buy Fabregas back

Moyes can cite Van Persie's success in his first season since
moving from the Gunners to Arsenal, which saw him win the Premier
League and earn the Golden Boot.
Fabregas is frustrated that he has not been playing in Barca's biggest games.
His
Spain career has also stalled and he wants to be a first choice again
somewhere with the World Cup finals just 12 months away.
