Former Nigeria international Emmanuel Among has hailed the 25-man squad released by Stephen Keshi for the international friendly match with Mexico which comes up on May 31, in Houston, United States, reports Completesportsnigeria.com
Sixteen foreign-based players and nine home-based professionals were listed for the friendly match.
Stating this in an exclusive chat with Completesportsnigeria.com: “The coach knows why he has decided to invite this set of players. The good thing is that majority of the players that won the Cup of Nations and also the last World Cup qualifying match against Kenya are in the team.
“So for me, I think it is a good list because there is continuity and also we will see the return of Joseph Akpala, and Kalu Uche who has been doing well for his Turkish club, scoring lots of goals for them this season," the Nigeria U-17 team Assistant Coach posts.
The Atlanta Olympic Gold medalist further tells Completesportsnigeria.com that the Mexicans will be a tough nut to crack.
“The present Mexican team have steadily grown from strength to strength over time," reckons the former FC Barcelona striker.
" We shouldn't forget that it’s the same Mexico team parading some of the players that won last year’s Olympic Games in London. They have a good team and they have grown.
“You don’t expect anything easy from them. But of course, we have to believe in what we have. It’s not all about winning," ----------------------------- Complete Sports
