Wojciech Szczesny
Some solid handling on the rare occasions he was needed. -
30
Bacary Sagna
Decent defensive display and bombed up and down the right touchline, producing one particularly dangerous cross in the first-half. Late header cleared off the line. -
10
Per Mertesacker
The German was commanding at the back and made some crucial interceptions to stop Torres. -
11
Thomas Vermaelen
A couple of shaky moments, including one misplaced backpass, but generally solid up against Torres. -
41
Kieran Gibbs
Strong defensively but could have offered more of an attacking option to stretch Chelsea. -
02
Tomas Rosicky
Some tidy passing and picked the ball up in dangerous areas without ever unlocking the Chelsea defence. -
02
Mikel Arteta
Some tidy passing at the base of Arsenal's midfield but was quickly put under pressure and unable to quickly start attacking moves. -
03
Mesut Özil
The £40m man drifted in and out of the game. Some nice touches without ever really threatening Chelsea. Clashed with Ivanovic in the second-half. -
03
Aaron Ramsey
Very poor game by the Welshman's high standards this season. Sloppy passing and no real sights on goal. -
11
Olivier Giroud
The focal point of the Arsenal attack but missed a couple of excellent chance in the second-half after getting away from Chelsea defenders. General movement not sharp enough. -
22
Theo Walcott
Played on the right but barely got an opportunity to use his electric pace. Well handled by Apzilicueta and looked a little off the pace.
Substitutions
-
02
Petr Cech
Very little to do but communicated well with the back four. -
21
Branislav Ivanovic
Involved in some needless handbags with Ozil in the second-half but on the whole very strong performance from the right-back. -
00
Gary Cahill
Good reading of the game and won some important headers. -
01
John Terry
The Chelsea captain led by example at the back with some crucial interceptions and strong headers. -
14
César Azpilicueta
The Spaniard enjoyed his battle with Walcott. Got stuck in to challenges and denied the England winger space in behind. -
02
Ramires
A busy, box-to-box diplay from the Brazilian midfielder. One header over the bar in the first-half but drove the team forward after the break. -
13
Frank Lampard
Relatively quiet performance but typically impressive timing to join attacks. Came closest to breaking the deadlock with a first-half volley that smashed against the crossbar. -
23
John Obi Mikel
The Nigerian should have been sent-off for a bad studs-up challenge on Arteta in the first-half. On the whole, however, he was a very effective screen for the back four. -
00
Eden Hazard
Some very classy moments from the Belgian on the counter-attack, especially a wonderful scooped pass for Lampard in the first-half. -
12
Willian
Probably lucky not to give away a penalty with a clumsy tackle in the first-half. Also shot weakly straight at Szczesny before being replaced by Oscar in the 77th minute. -
32
Fernando Torres
Fairly lively leading the line without really troubling the Arsenal defence. Couldn't get away from Mertesacker and Co before being replaced by Luiz late on.
Substitutions
-
10
David Luiz
Late replacement for Torres. -
03
Oscar
Some decent touches after coming on for Willian 13 minutes from time. -
10
Andre Schürrle
Came on for Hazard in the 73rd minute but made no real impact. ---------------- goal.com
