Real
Madrid president Florenino Perez is taking personal charge of the
club's bid to grab forward Gareth Bale and hopes his personal
relationship with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will work in his favour.
Having
accepted that the Wales international is the hottest star on the planet
outside of Lionel Messi, Perez is preparing his first move for the
flying wing wizard as he bids to seal his own chances of re-election as
president this year.
Perez recently admitted to reporters: "He's one of the best players in Europe and Real Madrid is always interested in the best".
However
he intends to tred carefully in talks having accepted that Levy - whom
he has come to know well - will prove as tough a negotiator as he has
ever faced.
He
will take his first serious moves nearer the opening of the transfer
window knowing that Real are the only 'show in town' for the player.
He is coming under intense pressure from inside the Bernebeu to get Bale and a source told SportsDirect News: "Levy is one of the toughest negotiators in world football and everybody inside the game knows it.
"This
move for Bale will test the president like never before and he is
feeling the heat from inside the club. Bale is the only player we are
really interested in this summer.
"The president has got to know the
Tottenham Hotspur chairman well over the last couple of years and hopes
that will help but knows he is a formidable negotiator." ----------------------------- Sports Direct
