The Chippa United defender says he will do his
best if he gets to feature in the Nelson Mandela Challenge against
Bafana Bafana on Wednesday
Chippa United defender, James Okwuosa has disclosed excitement at his invitation to the Super Eagles camp for the Nelson Mandela Challenge on Wednesday.
He noted that he is eager to impress if he gets to feature during the match between Bafana Bafana and the Super Eagles.
The
former Enugu Rangers captain, who replaced Kenneth Omeruo who pulled
out because of injury, noted that he cannot wait to wear the jersey and
play for Nigeria.
He told Goal that the game is a perfect opportunity for him to prove that he is a good player.
“I
am very excited about the opportunity given to me by coach Stephen
Keshi to join the team for the friendly. I hope to make the best of the
opportunity as I believe that I have what it takes to be in the national
team," Okwuosa said.
“It
is every footballer's dream to represent his country and I am grateful
to God and the technical crew for the chance to show what I can do.
“I
hope to convince the Big Boss that I should be considered for more
Super Eagles matches. I have been looking for this chance for a long
time and it shows the coaches are looking out for every player to come
and show the stuff they are made of.
“It
is going to be a good game for both countries because they will use the
match to perfect strategies for the last World Cup qualifiers in
September and I want to be part of the match on Wednesday here in South
Africa.
“I hope to take full advantage and give my best if I am considered to play,” Okwuosa said.
He was part of the Super Eagles in 2010 during the World Cup qualifiers while playing for Lobi Stars. ------------------------------ goal.com
